As I was spell checking my last post, I was informed by word authorities via the internet that no such word as VERBAGE existed. Can you imagine that? The only option one has is VERBAGE which is meant to be used as an insulting reference to one's writing or speech that uses an excess of fluffy words to make a point. As it has been my experience, more than a time or two that the word VERBIAGE does not meet my verbal needs I have taken it upon myself to officially coin the word the world has been waiting for.
Ta da! I give the world a new word: VERBAGE.

You can't eat happiness.
You can't buy it.
You can't wear it.
You can't drive it, or drink it, or sell it, or steal it.
You can't lock it away.
You can't negotiate for it.
You can't win it, you can't marry it, you can't inherit it, you can't cheat it.
You can't smoke it, or inject it, or rent it or borrow it.
You can't campaign for it or beg for it, or talk other people into giving you theirs.
You can live happiness.
You can work with it, play with it, worship, travel, eat, and sleep with it.
Happiness is yours to live and yours to give, if only you will.
It comes from the inside, and the best way to experience it is to get it flowing out.
Forget about trying and striving to get happy.
Just decide to be happy, and happiness is yours.
Every day I awaken, I awaken more. The majority of the thoughts I share here are from the hand of others that speak unto my own heart so very clear.

Let's be nice
an·tag·o·nist
– noun A person who is opposed to, struggles against, or competes with another; opponent; adversary.
Today I caught myself. I really do work at the judgemental thing but often find myself offering unsought advice in what I deem a creative way of correcting. Correcting what? Correcting whatever I have judged as wrong. Immediately after such clever verbage spouted from my mouth today I was reprimanded by the small still voice.
"Don't be the antagonist."
"Huh, what? Who me antagonist?" The image that popped into my head was of an ugly villain character being booed of the stage of a melodrama. "Me as the bad guy? Huh." The words gave me pause to think.
Life is not supposed to be a battle. After all we are all really on the same team though few see it that way. For sure most would agree that people living in the same household and particularly ones that have taken a vow of forever togetherness should understand they are to act as a team. I wasn't being a team player though. I was looking for and finding fault when I should have either kept quite or found something to praise.
"If you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all." my Mother often told me. Words for the wise. God give me this wisdom please.

I've been entrusted
God has entrusted me with this body. I am to love and care for it. I am to believe in it. I am to be it's advocate, it's cheerleader and it's caregiver. It is mine for now.
We as human beings often treat our pets and possessions better than we treat our own bodies. We will be sure to regularly change the oil in our cars and fill it's tank with premium fuel, and yet deny our own personal transportation package the same care and attention.
I'm changing my outlook on this bit by bit. I am loving my body. Loving my body as I love a child. Children, body and soul are easy to recognise as gifts of God. As parents we innately understand that we are responsible for their care. We treat them gently, lovingly and pridefully. It's God's plan that each generation cares for it's young. Bestowing on them so much love and tender care and thus self worth that each child of God will then continue this care of themselves into adulthood.
There is still very much a child inside each one of us that needs to feel this love and attention. This child lives inside a body that still needs all the TLC, tender loving care, it can get. Now it's my responsibility to care for the body and spirit of this wonderful child of God whom I am.
When I think of my body and spirit as being under my care and as a child, I think differently about them. I am more patient with myself and I love myself, body and soul.

True to me
When something has been true of my experience and I find myself thinking about it and relating it to my present state and the future,
I stop and ask myself if this is what I want my new experience to be. If not, I stop again and pause. This time realizing that at that moment I hold immense power in my hands, within my being.
Just be cause something was, doesn't mean it is or has to be. I have the power within me to change my experience. I can rethink the situation by thinking what I want my experience to be. I AM, with the power of THE WORD, the point of power for my life.

I asked and recieved
In an August, 2010 Journal entry I wrote as I prayed.
Please help me to keep a lifted spirit Oh Lord.
I trust in your goodness and grace
to guide me through my days.
Creating many opportunities to live the best life
I can to your Glory.
Help me see I plead.
Hold me close.
Never let me go.
The world is so loud.
This world is so confusing and messed up.
Help me quiet my mind so I can hear
your small still voice
speak to me.
I am listening.
Within a moments I heard the voice softly speak.
BE STILL
And then I was given the story of Jesus on the sea with his disciples. Which I felt drawn to instantly write in my own words in my journal.
Please help me to keep a lifted spirit Oh Lord.

BE STILL
And then I was given the story of Jesus on the sea with his disciples. Which I felt drawn to instantly write in my own words in my journal.
Jesus and his disciples were on a boat at sea. They all had been asleep resting comfortably as they were at total ease on a calm sea. A storm awoke the disciples and panic struck them as their boat felt threatened by the turbulent waters, high winds and pounding rain. They were afraid for their lives and totally out of control of their once calm emotions. All had been well in their eyes and mind only a few minutes before.
Jesus was fast asleep and resting calmly which totally shocked them. They shook Jesus to alarm him of the danger they felt, as they thought it only appropriate that he as well should participate in their nightmare. When Jesus awoke and realized what was happening he was angry and perturbed. In exasperation he stood and demanded THAT ALL BE STILL!
Immediately the water calmed and the wind died. The men as well calmed as the storm dissolved before their eyes. They were in total awe. Awe at the power Jesus had just displayed. Among themselves they ask "Who is this man whom the sea and sky obey?"
Jesus is still exasperated with the whole situation and admonishes the group. "Why are you afraid you men of little faith? Where is your faith? You still don't get it do you? After all this time with me FEAR got the best of you. Don't you remember my words? BE NOT AFRAID." His command to "BE STILL!" was directed as much to the fears of the men as to the raging waters. As their fear had risen so had the storm.

DANG TOOTH
I had to have and I mean had to have a back lower molar removed in July. What a pain and what a relief. Well tonight just after dinner I had another tooth flare up. I couldn't bare it, the dang tooth just throbbed. The thought passed through me that I as this particular tooth was becoming such an issue perphaps I should have it removed too. Dang SWEET TOOTH. I pacified it for the moment with a Root Beer float and then treated it this evening with some straight brownie batter. Things are calm for the moment.

Keep it to yourself.
Don't talk about your dreams and desires to others. No one else can see the unique vision that you so sharply hold in mind and thus knowingly or unknowingly they will throw seeds of doubt about. If you then consider and ponder the opposing ideas, seeds of doubt will be planted in the most fertile soil of your mind. Each time you consider these "weed seed" ideas you water them and allow them to sprout. If left to flourish, weed seed will suck the life out of the seeds of your most positive and wonderful dreams.
Perhaps this is why we have been told to keep our wishes a secret: Tell know one the wish you make as you blow out the candles of your birthday cake or toss a coin into a well or fountain. Your secret can only be safe with you. Keeping your wishes secret allows them to flourish in the sacred garden of your mind.
Your wishes and dreams for yourself are yours. Keep them safe and hold them dear. They are so very valuable to you and as you shower the soil of your mind with sunny thoughts of all that is good ,you are feeding your most wonderful secret dreams and empowering them to shoot up out of the rich soil of your mind and flower gloriously for all to behold.

You can't eat happiness
You can't eat happiness.
You can't buy it.
You can't wear it.
You can't drive it, or drink it, or sell it, or steal it.
You can't lock it away.
You can't negotiate for it.
You can't win it, you can't marry it, you can't inherit it, you can't cheat it.
You can't smoke it, or inject it, or rent it or borrow it.
You can't campaign for it or beg for it, or talk other people into giving you theirs.
You can live happiness.
You can create it.
You can be it.
You can give it to others.
You can enjoy it.
You can share it.
You can claim it.
You can have as much as you wish.
You can enjoy it as much as you want, at any time, under any circumstance.

Open a book, open your eyes, open your mind, open your heart.
Open your eyes to the panorama of life. The world has so much more to offer than anyone can see from their own perspective. God created each of us with the gift of choice and reason so we can each be individual expressions of our Creator's glory. As individuals we each have a separate body that experiences and perceives life uniquely. What a joy, but we weren't intended to experience or be able to understand or appreciate the fullness of life alone. Life viewed from any individuals limited perspective is limited.

I don't want to know it
I don't want to know it. Yet, I do. I truely believe it's one of my last vices that have and treasure. Somewhere along the way in the last 5 years I've gotten addicted to Diet Coke. I give it up and then get it again. Each time I swear it off it's after begining reminded of the clear health dangers of the ingestion of aspartame.
Two days ago, I fell off the wagon and bought a 12 pack of Diet Coke with Lime. Ten minutes ago, I popped open a can of the fizzy stuff, poured into a tall glass over ice, enjoyed a refreshing sip and as the Coca Cola company promises had a smile. Then I carried my Coke into our home office, set it beside my computer and opened my e-mail.
My smile went away. I was reminded once again that this stuff is posion for my system. Damn. I don't want to know it, but I do. Everything else that I consiously do in my life is too better my situation for the here and now and the forever, except this. Shit. I have to accept the reality my choices. Why would I knowingly bring the potential of harm to myself?
I'm not going the drink the Coke on my desk. I'm going to pour it out. Then I am going to listen once again to the message being delivered to me. I will listen. I will take heed. I will rejoice in my decision to do the best I know for myself and I will smile.
According to aspartame.org diet soda accounts for 70 percent of the aspartame consumed. A 12 ounce can of diet soda contains 180 mg of aspartame, and aspartame users ingest an average of 200 mg per day.

Let it me known:
On this last day of July,
in the year of 2010,
I, Debra Clemente,
being of sane mind
and wanting to stay that way,
choose not to have the
deadly neurotoxin aspartame,
AS PART A ME.

About Me
- artistdeb
- I'm a passionate fine art painter and spiritual writer awakening to a deeper sense of purpose and connectedness with the universe everyday. As an artist, I express the the joy I feel with the voice of color. Just I as I have been inspired to sing the song of my soul with paint and palette, I am now being prompted to pick up a pen and write. Listen Hear, A Divine Love Story journals a year of my awakening to the Voice of Love. I used to have to guard my thoughts; now my thoughts guard and guide me. It’s like I have a life coach in my head, but the wisdom is from a whole different source than my brain. I invite you to spend sometime here perusing excerpts from my soon to be published book and browsing a gallery of my paintings. It is my wish that what I offer may open a window of new possibility within your heart and mind. And like a “breath of fresh air,” awaken a part of your soul.
