My Thoughts

The true movers and shakers of this world have all had to have a deeper connection with the POWER – THE ONE which is in all and thus available to all. Amazing feats of science, art, music and other innovations never came from anyone’s little mind. They originate in DIVINE MIND, whether the individual is aware of this fact or not.

When an individual opens oneself to SOURCE as a free flowing conduit, the amazing is possible. But when one begins to understand the source of the POWER and the laws that guide and direct it, a miraculous life is lived.

Living somewhere between the two, between the ecstasy of creative expression and the agony of real life is the cycle that has caused many a creative genius to insanity! There seems to be no midpoint here. A creative genius either plays the part of martyr or saint, depending on his own self-realization, as a result of soul searching.

As an artist, a creative genius, I can tell the world that one of my kind has plenty of time to soul search, to contemplate. We live in our own little worlds of our imaginations. Trying our best to keep up with the flow of new ideas. Lot’s of time in solitude is necessary to create. We ponder and pause. Stepping back from the rush of the world.

I know for myself that for many years the only time I felt “whole” was when I was painting. I now understand that being “in the flow” was the reason, the reason for my joy, the reason for my feelings of health and peace.

At one time I told my father that all I really wanted to do was paint. Painting was my drug, my escape. I still have my painting but now I have more, so much more. I have a full life of joy. The same flow that I once only knew while standing at my easel now directs my entire life. The more I understand it, the more I am comfortable to release my grip on life and instead go with the flow.

Words have power

Although I knew I wasn’t helping myself by thinking of it, I couldn’t seem to drop the words from my mind, the words of another. Something said off the cuff that he most likely did not give another thought to. He didn’t need to, because I did.

“Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me.” That little jingle easily rolls off my tongue. I wish that hurtful words thrown my way would never stick. “I am rubber, you are glue! Whatever you say bounces off of me and sticks on you!” I know all this. I know that another’s words can only hurt me if they become mine when I repeat them in my mind. Oh, how I didn’t want them to become mine.

This made me think beyond myself, beyond the hurtful words, which I had heard only one time from the other. How many hurtful words are thrown carelessly in another’s direction? Often in the direction of those we love the most. Those words have the most potential to stick, the most potential to cause real damage. Maybe they were only said once but if not taken back they most often stick forever in the head and heart of the other. Playing like a broken record, repeating again and again in one’s mind.

Words do have power, even thoughtless words. Because I understand this I knew I could not keep them. If I kept the words they would become mine. “NO! I DON’T WANT THIS! HELP ME,” I pleaded, “TAKE THIS AWAY FROM ME!”

“DO NOT REPEAT IT MY PRECIOUS”

These very words came to my mind. Words of instruction. Words of love and words of endearment. Words I have never heard before. Words that I repeated again and again all today in my mind.

“MY PRECIOUS. DO NOT REPEAT IT MY PRECIOUS”

These words came not from me but to me, from a higher consciousness, my higher self, from a place of pure love, from God. I hear this voice quite often, this small still voice, which speaks of comfort, direction, wisdom and most of all love. No, the voice was not mine. I am certain of this. The words were not mine, not in the beginning.

“MY PRECIOUS”

What a loving term of endearment. For as much love I have known as a daughter, wife and mother I do not recall ever calling anyone or nor anyone calling me “my precious”.

“MY PRECIOUS, MY PRECIOUS, MY PRECIOUS”

As I repeat these lovely words again and again to myself tears run down my face. Warmth fills my chest and I am rapt in Divine Love. God love me this I know, because the small still voices tells me so.

“MY PRECIOUS, MY PRECIOUS, MY PRECIOUS”

These words are mine. I claim them. I keep them. I hold them dear. God’s love is for us all. I am not a chosen one. I am one who has chosen God.

the blessing

To be mediums on this better plan, is to be baptized with the Holy Spirit, and to be in communication with heaven. It is the consummation which all Christians have been praying for, and toward which all religious experience tends. It is the blessing of the New Covenant, promised to the last days, in saying, They shall not teach every man his neighbor, saying, Know the Lord; for all shall know me, from the least unto the greatest.
— The Circular.

Because I am moved by a certain divine and spiritual influence, which also Melitus, through mockery, has set out in the indictment; this, begun with me from childhood, being a kind of voice which, when present, always diverts me from what I am about to do, but never urges me on. But this duty, as I said, has been enjoined me by the deity, by oracles, by dreams, and by every mode by which any other divine decree has ever enjoined anything for man to do. — Socrates.

They (the poets) do not compose by art, but through a divine power; since if they knew how to speak by art upon the subject correctly, they would be able to do so upon all others. And on this account a deity has deprived them of their senses, and employs them as his ministers, and oracle singers, and divine prophets, in order that when we hear them we may know it is not they to whom sense is not present who speak what is valuable, but the god himself who speaks, and through them addresses us. We are not to doubt about those beautiful poems being not human but divine, and the 'work, not of men but of gods; and that poets are nothing else but interpreters of the gods (or spirits as we now call them), possessed bywhatever deity they may happen to be. And in pointing out this, the Deity has, through a poet most indifferent, sung melody the most beautiful. — Plato.

True to me

When something has been true of my experience and I find myself thinking about it and relating it to my present state and the future,
I stop and ask myself if this is what I want my new experience to be. If not, I stop again and pause. This time realizing that at that moment I hold immense power in my hands, within my being.

Just be cause something was, doesn't mean it is or has to be. I have the power within me to change my experience. I can rethink the situation by thinking what I want my experience to be. I AM, with the power of THE WORD, the point of power for my life.

Beyond the Intellect

"Softly comes the night" by Debra Clemente
God's divine plan is hidden from our mere intellectual consciousness. One who's understanding of God, his plan and works is only from the words of others can not be one of true faith or belief. The words another uses to express their own God consciousness can only be signposts pointing direction to the Greatest Truth. It is then for each of us to have a great yearning to know God for ourselves. One must seek to find.

You need not go far, but you need to go deep. Deep within your own consciousness. Past the idle ramblings of your chattering material mind to the quiet space. The resting spot. Settle in and be still. Be patient. Be willing. Be selfless. Be humble and weak. Ask for strength. Ask for knowledge. Most of all ask for the grace of God's Divine Love to fill your body and soul.

Awakening to possibilites

"AS I AWOKE" 60" x 48",  oil on canvas, 2010 by Debra Clemente
My recent painting "AS I AWOKE" was an exciting discovery for me on several levels. As I have changed the way my life is directed I am as well applying these lessons to my painting process.

When I began the painting, I knew not where the adventure would lead me. I thought it might be a large colorful abstract. As I have as yet to paint a full fledged abstract, I found myself seeing and developing possibilities in the patterns of colors I was laying down upon the canvas, much like how one discovers shapes in the clouds which appear to be more than random puffs of air. My level of energy and enthusiasm to discover the treasure that lay within remains evident in the painting as one can see where I scratched through the paint revealing wondrous hidden color suggesting the grasses and sunlight on the hills.

I have found that when I have something so specific in mind at the start I often struggle and agonize to "get it right" and yet at other times wonderful paintings seem to "fall from the sky" onto my canvas within a relatively short time. Not long ago I believed that blood, sweat and tears was the only valid avenue of art creation. I didn't give full credence to these works that flowed with ease from my imagination which is indeed a gift from God. I am consciously working on painting through a higher level unconsciousness, desiring Spirit to work through me and not fight the flow with my own preconceived ideas.

It's a delight to share with you.

It's a GIVEN

Those ideas that pop-up
out of the invisible, good ideas,
wonderful ideas, timely and fresh ideas
they are gifts.
Remember to say thank you.

I thought of you.

What we all need.

What we all need. What we all thirst for. What we all deserve. It is available to each of us now. Seek and ye shall find. I have sought and I have found. I have found and know the greatest gift of all,  God's Divine Love in my heart and soul.

Our Heavenly Father is a God of Love and He welcomes all of His children into His Arms of Love. He desires that none of His children become lost, but that they all find and receive His Divine Love through prayer.

The true teachings of Jesus' mission on earth as the Messiah of God, emphasied that salvation of soul is a matter between each individual and God, through sincere prayer to receive His redeeming Love, and that this Love when received into the human soul bestows At-onement with the Heavenly Father and transformation, little by little, into His Divine Nature. Responsibility for one's salvation, therefore, rests with each individual soul and cannot be bestowed arbitrarily by a church decree or by the supposed "sacrifice" by God of one of His creatures.

If you are seeking, I invite you to look here.

The "Prayer Perfect" is a formal prayer, delivered by Jesus of Nazareth, designed to open our souls to the influence of the Holy Spirit and inflowing of God's Divine Love. When offered to the Father with sincerity and earnestness This is the only prayer that men need to offer the Father. It is the only one that appeals to the Love of the Father. And, with the answer, which will surely come, will come all the blessings that men may need and which the Father sees are for the good of His creatures.

OUR FATHER, WHO ART IN HEAVEN, WE RECOGNIZE THAT THOU ART ALL HOLY AND LOVING AND MERCIFUL, AND THAT WE ARE THY CHILDREN, AND NOT THE SUBSERVIENT, SINFUL AND DEPRAVED CREATURES THAT OUR FALSE TEACHERS WOULD HAVE US BELIEVE. THAT WE ARE THE GREATEST OF THY CREATIONS, AND THE MOST WONDERFUL OF ALL THY HANDIWORKS, AND THE OBJECTS OF THY GREAT SOUL'S LOVE AND TENDEREST CARE.

THAT THY WILL IS THAT WE BECOME AT-ONE WITH THEE AND PARTAKE OF THY GREAT LOVE WHICH THOU HAST BESTOWED UPON US THROUGH THY MERCY AND DESIRE THAT WE BECOME, IN TRUTH, THY CHILDREN THROUGH LOVE, AND NOT THROUGH THE SACRIFICE AND DEATH OF ANY OF THY CREATURES.

WE PRAY THAT THOU WILL OPEN UP OUR SOULS TO THE INFLOWING OF THY LOVE, AND THAT THEN WILL COME THY HOLY SPIRIT TO BRING INTO OUR SOULS THIS, THY DIVINE LOVE, IN GREAT ABUNDANCE, UNTIL OUR SOULS SHALL BE TRANSFORMED INTO THE VERY ESSENCE OF THYSELF; AND THAT THERE WILL COME TO US FAITH—SUCH FAITH AS WILL CAUSE US TO REALIZE THAT WE ARE TRULY THY CHILDREN AND ONE WITH THEE IN VERY SUBSTANCE, AND NOT IN IMAGE ONLY.

LET US HAVE SUCH FAITH AS WILL CAUSE US TO KNOW THAT THOU ART OUR FATHER, AND THE BESTOWER OF EVERY GOOD AND PERFECT GIFT, AND THAT ONLY WE, OURSELVES, CAN PREVENT THY LOVE CHANGING US FROM THE MORTAL INTO THE IMMORTAL.

LET US NEVER CEASE TO REALIZE THAT THY LOVE IS WAITING FOR EACH AND ALL OF US, AND, THAT WHEN WE COME TO THEE IN FAITH AND EARNEST ASPIRATION, THY LOVE WILL NEVER BE WITHHOLDEN FROM US.

KEEP US IN THE SHADOW OF THY LOVE EVERY HOUR AND MOMENT OF OUR LIVES, AND HELP US TO OVERCOME ALL TEMPTATIONS OF THE FLESH, AND THE INFLUENCE OF THE POWERS OF THE EVIL ONES WHO SO CONSTANTLY SURROUND US AND ENDEAVOR TO TURN OUR THOUGHTS AWAY FROM THEE TO THE PLEASURES AND ALLUREMENTS OF THIS WORLD.

WE THANK THEE FOR THY LOVE AND THE PRIVILEGE OF RECEIVING IT, AND WE BELIEVE THAT THOU ART OUR FATHER—THE LOVING FATHER WHO SMILES UPON US IN OUR WEAKNESS, AND IS ALWAYS READY TO HELP US AND TAKE US TO THY ARMS OF LOVE.

WE PRAY THUS WITH ALL THE EARNESTNESS AND SINCERE LONGINGS OF OUR SOULS, AND, TRUSTING IN THY LOVE, GIVE THEE ALL THE GLORY AND HONOR AND LOVE THAT OUR FINITE SOULS CAN GIVE.

Amen.

Open a book, open your eyes, open your mind, open your heart.

Open your eyes to the panorama of life. The world has so much more to offer than anyone can see from their own perspective. God created each of us with the gift of choice and reason so we can each be individual expressions of our Creator's glory. As individuals we each have a separate body that experiences and perceives life uniquely. What a joy, but we weren't intended to experience or be able to understand or appreciate the fullness of life alone. Life viewed from any individuals limited perspective is limited.

Talk to the animals

"Talk to the Animals" is a song written by British composer Leslie Bricusse. Written for the film Doctor Dolittle, it won the Academy Award for Best Original Song at the 40th Academy Awards.

Chattin' with a chimp in chimpanzee,
Imagine talking to a tiger, chatting with a cheetah,
What a neat achievement it would be!
If we could talk to the animals, learn their languages,
Maybe Take an animal degree,
I'd study elephant and eagle, buffalo and beagle,
Alligator, guinea pig, and flea!
I would converse in polar bear and python,
And I would curse in fluent kangaroo,
If people ask me "can you speak rhinoceros?"
I'd say "of courserous! Can't you?"
If I conferred with our furry friends, man to animal,
Think of the amazing repartee
If I could walk with the animals, talk with the animals,
Grunt and squeak and squawk with the animals,
And they could squeak and skwawk and speak and talk to us!
If I consult with the quadrupeds
Think what fun we’d have,
asking for the crocodiles for tea!
Or maybe lunch with three lions, walruses and sea lions
What a lovely place the world would be!
If I spoke slang to orangutans
The advantages any fool on earth could plainly see!
Discussing Eastern art and dramas
With intellectual llamas
That’s a big step forward you’ll agree!
I’d learn to speak in antelope and turtle
And my Pekinese would be extremely good
If I were asked to sing in hippopotamus
I’d say “whynotamous?” and I would!
If I could parlay with pachyderms
It’s a fairy tale worthy of Hans Anderson and Grimm
A man who walks with the animals and talks with the animals
Grunts and squeaks and squawks with the animals
and they could talk to *me*!
I’d study every *living* creature’s language
So I could speak to all of them on site
If friends said “can he talk in crab or pelican?”
You’d say “*like hell he can” and you'll be right!
And if you just stop to think of it
there's no doubt of it
I would win a place in history
If I could walk with the animals
Talk with the animals
Grunt no word here squeak and squawk with the animals
And they could squeak and squawk and speak and talk to me!
